I nice warm bath is what your Yorkie needs. The hose pressure is much to strong and the water too cold for your dog. I had German Shepherds and only used the hose on very hot days to wash the mud off their coats after play.
Try putting him in a basin and into your kitchen sink. I find that the basin helps because our pup does not slip and slide. Also, the temperature of the water is tested on our wrists, just like a baby's bath.
We keep the running water away from the pup's face and use only the sprayer to wet and rinse.
When the bath is done, we wrap Remi in a big towel and place him on his grooming table. Nearby is a blow dryer on a stand that allows me to have free hands. The grooming table is wonderful because of the loop. This permits me to comb and dry quickly.
Remi always gets a special treat when his bath and grooming time is over. |
