its probably a scar... scars always heal darker at first on your skin and can turn a brown color if exposed to the sun... but i'd have it checked just to be safe.. if it is a scar with time it will fade. but it's really unusual for a bug bite to stick around for that long.. picking at it or not... was it a large bug?
