I bought my female from a breeder who was licensed thru the state and she said she has not had any genetic or health problems in her lines.

How do I check this stuff out? Sylvia
As far as the breeder with your stud if she had gotten some pts. on him
I believe you can go to akc.org and type in his reg. and look under
pts. for this dog and it should tell you.
With the breeder of the female it doesn't matter if she is state licensed or not in some cities that is required if you breed alot of dogs.
Ask her for vet info. and what kind of health screening she does regaurdless
if she is saying she has not had any health/gentic problems.
Proof is in the pudding!!Breeding stock most be screened and tested.
She might not have been contacted buy puppy owners or she may
not claim it! Also somtimes when problems pop up and puppy
is maybe 6mths or so some breeders only give 48 health guar.
so that takes them off the hook! Alot of times people don't even bother to complain. Personally I would. Some breeders will not be honest
and will not tell you what problems they have had untill you breed and find it out. That is why most good breeders do not let there stock go just
to breed. They are very careful who gets there line! I can go on on this
subject but I will stop!!!
good luck!
