I have both and couldn't be happier with them. I also have Maltese. They are my 3 favorite breeds. None of them shed and they all get along. Mikki (Shih Tzu) quickly became a favorite of the whole family. I am sure you would be happy with your choice if you decide to add a Shih Tzu to your family.
