I know your dogs wouldn't like it, but could you put them in their crates/spin in another room for the night? (just give extra special treats) Then if their mother asks, you can say, oh my dogs aren't really used to children and I wouldn't want them to be snippy or hurt you children. I know it's not totally the truth, but at least your dogs would be safe and the mother would feel as though you are protecting her kids. Also, you wouldn't be offending a family member, something I try not to do since you have to see these people for the rest of your lives. Good luck tonight. |
