You might want to get a cheap nylon collar at first. When puppies first have a collar put on, they tend to scratch and scratch for a few days to a week at first. Lacy's first collar was a frayed mess by the end of that first week. I got her nicer collars after she was used to wearing a collar and didn't scratch at it anymore.
