Now our vet does it anywhere from 5-6 mos. but, I had my little girl spayed at 5 1/2 mos. then my hubby took her in to get stitches out, I told him to ask them if they checked her teeth, they told him no, that they give them up to a year to lose them..she's almost 7 mos. now, and I just found the 5th tooth on the floor, I don't know how many she has swallowed, and I wouldn't know baby teeth from adult teeth if I were to look..
