I always wanted to get married in Hawaii.. I always dreamed of going away to a tropical beach and getting married at sunset

Two of my cousins were married in Hawaii. Actually, my first cousin was married there because they don't (or at least didn't) have as strict same-sex marriage laws. After that, everyone fell in love, and my other cousin and her husband were married there a few years later. Both were married on the beach at sunset. Another family member works for an airline and was able to get buddy passes for everyone- significantly decreasing the cost of the trip. They did a reception a few months after they got back. Their total wedding, honeymoon, and reception cost was around $4,000. I used to want a big, elaborate wedding, but I keep thinking that what I would need to spend is a car or a down-payment on a house. And it's just ONE day! What's important is what you're creating- a union based on love. I'm still trying to convince my bf of this plan, but certain members of his family are a little "difficult" when things don't go their way, and he feels obligated for them to be there. (but that's a whole other story!)
