My archie does get cold a lot when he is outside, he would still shiver when wearing a warm coat!! He is 5 months old and about 2.5lbs and I found that the xxs size fits him, I think you should be ok with an xs or maybe even a s (depending on the brand), walmart and petsmart have a good selection of coats and sometimes you can find them at target too (although they sell out pretty quickly).
