Our oldest just got married there 2-15-08. We stayed at the Golden Nugget, which is on Fremont Street. (no furbutt with us for this trip.
) It was BEAUTIFUL The hotel/casino was very clean but like you said very smokey!
We aren't smokers and it was hard on us to smell like smoke all the time. My husband got the flu right after we got back and still hasn't recovered.
When we went out of the hotel at night (on fremont street) to all the other casinos around us...it was, well um...scary, I thought. A lot of "rough" looking people.
We went to the strip Sat evening and saw a show at Harrah's and walked the strip for awhile! Amazing how many people. It was wall to wall or I should say shoulder to shoulder.
We took a cab from our hotel back to the airport sunday am. The cab driver told us there are 10 to 12 murders every year in Las Vegas....and half of the people murdered are Taxi cab drivers.!
Never the less, the wedding was BEAUTIFUL and so was the Wedding site! We were busy with wedding, family and friends and had a wonderful time!
