I went to 4 different highschools (my dad worked in the oil industry and was always being transferred) so I never really had time to fit in or become part of a group. I guess I was mostly a Band Geek since that was the one group I was in all 4 years. Music was my thing so I stuck with it because I wanted to be a music major in college.. even though that didn't happen I'm glad I was in band because at least I made a few friends where it would have been really hard to make friends being the new kid every year of highschool. I was also a major Braniac.. I spent more time doing homework and getting ready for college than I ever did socializing. I was pretty much the same throughout college too.

Iheartyorkies - My marching bands were also way more succesful than the football teams.. my SR. year the football team won one single solitary game but we took tops in all of our competitions and people came to the games to see the band, not the football team!

Tell your daughter that trumpet players rule! (I played trumpet & euphonium in HS)
