I'd say at about a year they are ready to breed but some people may say a little later. You'll want to make sure you have a good example of the breed in looks, personality and health. Also know about parents and grandparents. A lot of people think studding out their male is easier than it actually is. You need to know how to assist in the breeding and it helps to understand the female heat cycle even though it is the female's owner's responsibility to bring them over when she is ready. Stud fees can vary quite a bit by location, quality of dog, pedigree, championships, etc.
