I was just wondering how does an AKC paper and pedigree identify that the dog is yours? Wouldnt a micro-chip or tattoo be better for identification purposes?

In my opinion, registering the dog is only a personal preference. Its nice to have and the pedigrees are fun to look at. But if you ever want to compete in conformation, rally, or other AKC events, you will need to have him registered. Thats always a great way to spend quality time with you baby and have lots of fun and meet nice people.
