Oh I'm so sorry to hear this....I've been in your shoes (twice even) and it's not a good feeling that's for sure. The advice you have gotten so far is great..first thing is to file for unemployment worst case is that your employer can deny it but you won't know unless you try.
Second you need to get your resumes updated ASAP and register on Monster and look at Craig's List every day. Have different resumes made up for diffrent positions.
