Help... about 2 weeks ago my baby yorkie was running very quickly and chasing after his older sister. Before he knew it he was stopped by a big pole where he infact tumbled over and hit his face. 3 days after he began developing a small edematous bump under his right eye. I was putting ice on it and it just seemed to drain a mix between thick light reddish discharge which after helping the area drain it became watery. I washed the area and applied an antibiotic ointment and a bit of neosporin. I gave him a little piece of baby asprin for any residual pain. That was about 3 days ago since all this happened and a few minutes ago I saw the swelling return and again I placed ice on it and it began to drain....
Has anyone ever seen this? Is it possible that dogs can obtain MRSA? he does not seem to be in pain or discomfort... he plays, eats and sleeps well... no bowel movement changes or loss of weight or appetite...
Could this just be a reaction to the bruise that he got?
If anyone can help me understand this matter, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thought I would ask around before I went to the vet and paid $300 for them to say to me that it is just a bruise that he will soon get over.
I will take him if I see this swelling persist after this weekend. I just hope someone can tell me if this has ever happened to anyone before.
Thank you |
