Yeah I know...it isn't easy when they weigh 8 and 10 either.

I'll try to describe how I held mine...I place them underneath my arm...between the arm and my body...holding tightly. Then I would grasp a paw...and clip. Understand...grasping one didn't mean they didn't pull that paw out of my hand repeatedly. Sometimes I would clip one nail...they'd pull their paw away....I'd get it again...clip...and so on. It was quite a battle. I don't have to hold their bodies like that anymore. I sit them on my lap.

Groomers cut from the underside up....the dog is up on a counter and they just bend it at the joint...paw side up...and clip. Sometimes they are so unused to being placed up on something...they'll stand there for you. The only time mine are up on a table...are at the groomers or the vets. So at home...they stand dead still up on a counter.

Just don't give in....he will realize he is having it done..whether he cooperates or not. Giving in just teaches him....enough fighting you and you won't do it, I think.
