 This happens everyday
We have noticed for the last few years that Mozart does a lot of licking in that area and sure enough it comes out. We have taken him to the vet numerous times about it. They have discussed surgery but feel it could be risky. He is 10 years old. He is neutered and has been since he was very young. Nothing changed, but one day the licking started and the sheath rolled back. At first, it was infrequent, but it has become a daily problem. The vet says that we need to keep it lubricated, but he just licks it off. He goes for grooming once every two weeks. They know to cut the hairs back. Nothing seems to help, so we live with it. I address it early in the morning, when I get home from work and before I go to bed. Since he is neutered, we just monitor it carefully. |
