Most of the time, it has alot to do with whether or not the breeder did anything about it. If you shave the top of the ear, normally it'll stand on it's own pretty quickly. If it doesn't, that's when taping comes into play. But there are some Yorkies who's ears come up without shaving, or taping. I can't explain that one.
