Kash sleeps with me at night so he's warm, but during the colder days i leave a heating pad under his bedding in his crate on the low setting (while i'm at work). the cord is well-hidden (although i still worry sometimes). i come home at lunch, and he's fine, and there's no sign of him trying to mess with it.
i guess it depends on the dog... Kash isn't too mischievous... thank goodness!
