Take the pup with you as many places as you can. The excited greeting that our Yorkies give everyone just makes them Yorkies!
Also, I would recommend using a harness and not a choker collar. His little esophagus can easily be damaged!
Remi used to do all of the actions you described. Now that he is 1 1/2 years old he does not run to greet people on the street anymore. I really think that is because he has been exposed everyday to walking and seeing people. He also learned that not everyone will come and greet him. Some people just walk right by him. Remi could not believe that at first!
