I also think you should see if the breeder could take her for a short time. There she would be used to the surroundings and you wouldn't have to worry. She could get very stressed out being left alone in an unfamilar place...having only been with you for a day. Good luck and I hope your grandson does well with his surgery! I'll say a prayer!
