I have both a yorkie and a maltese...they are both great dogs! The yorkie has more energy and the maltese is definitely a lap dog and if allowed will lie in your lap for hours. The yorkies I feel have a bit more personality but that may be just between my little boogers! Either way, I think you'll be happy!
