I have a fresh flow fountain that I only clean once a week. It has a charcoal filter that is replaced once a month.
As for food, I clean the bowl every 2-3 days or if I can see any kind of build up starting it gets cleaned right away. I hate ants and roaches so I am parinoid about having dirty dishes around! Never knew bugs could get so big until I moved to Texas!
