im not an expert at all and maybe a breeder can clarify, but i have thought that it is some sort of "courtship" routine.....dexter has a toy piggy and he will sit for an hour nibbling away at its ear and then he will mount it. kind of sound like a similar situation...but with a piggy instead of another yorkie.
