Greetings!
I am "new" to the wonderful world of Yorkies and have been directed to this Forum. I live in Northwest NJ (Landing/Lake Hopatcong) and am looking to acquire a Yorkie pup. I have been baby-sitting a 9 year male Yorkie (Sampson) for a month now and have absolutely fallen in love with him! My two cats have also managed to become quite smitten. Probably because both of them are a lot bigger than Sampson.
Sampson's Mommy is returning next week and I would like to start my "quest" for a healthy puppy from a reputable source (no pet stores or puppy mills!).
Would appreciate anyone sharing their experiences and/or recommendations. I realize that Yorkies tend to be a bit pricey, from what I can see. I am not looking to breed and would happily settle for a healthy companion rather than a prize-winner!
Would also appreciate any guidence regarding gender. Are males "better" than females? My experience with little Sampson has really changed this "cat" man into a Yorkie-man. He is incredibly affectionate!
