Lacey, the 3lb youngest is my alpha dog. When it is getting toward night, she and Chloe have played together all day and will want to both get on my lap at the same time, sometimes it leads to a little growling by Lacey. I know this sounds totally crazy but when I got Lacey, Chloe was 6 months old and the breeder gave me some advice that seems to work. From the beginning I made sure I gave Chloe the first attention, treat, toy, etc. so she would not feel she was not loved. I then try to give equal attention throughout the day and at night, when Lacey gets a little boss head, I tell her no and if she throws a fit I put her in timeout for a few minutes and totally ignore her. I then explain to her why she was in timeout and that she must not fight, let her out and the three of us snuggle. Most of the time she just straightens up and flies right or she goes to bed for the night. I much prefer having two rather than one. They have each others company and when I am tired I am not guilty when Chloe brings me her toy for playtime. Of course, my hubby thinks all my lecturing doesn't mean a thing but honestly, it does.
