I will say breeders might say no because sooooo many things can elevate it. Then you have Ellie. Her labs had been normal and her postprandial bile acids are 106... Because MVD can be asymptomatic and I prefer to supplement for it, all my Yorkies will be bile acid tested. Ellie's ALT was fine at the beginning of the year and did go to 118 later but is now back down. The vet only did it because I asked. With an ALT of 43, they don't think it is necessary BUT the ALT may not go up til the liver is 70% damaged.
