I waited until Marcel was 10 mths old to neuter! He was only 2.5 pounds at the time, so I was scared. Then, the vet canceled bc a couple blood tests were off just a bit, so we waited 2 weeks - and did it then (follow up tests came back fine). It's fine to wait, esp. if it means waiting for teeth as well.
