To the naked eye, what you say appears true. I can definitely see how you would feel this way. However, as has been mentioned, this does not take into account the myriad other expenses involved. You may see Yorkies
advertised for $1000 from breeders who do not do testing, etc........but in most cases they are not actually
selling for that. They are selling for much less, which is reasonable, as the breeder's expenses are less. Pups from a breeding with only the expenses you mention generally are selling for $300-$500, depending on area.
