 Crate Question

I am going to start leaving Rudy ( 5 months ) in kennel during the day.. I will be coming home for lunch and to let him go out to potty and play for a bit.. what I need to know is it ok for him not to have water during that time? It will be about 5 hours... thanks. for any input..
