 my 2 cents
I was a pro-groomer for 27 years. I always used the Wahl professional clippers. They cost about $75 and come with a #10 Blade. Use this on the butt and around the private areas. You can also buy other blades. I NEVER used the guards because they always got caught in the hair. When you buy blades, just remember the smaller the number the longer it leaves the hair. You can also get a can of Oster Kool-Lube. That will lubricate your blade and cool it so you don't burn your dog. The blades can be sharpened for quite a few years depending on how often you use them. It may be a bit of an investment, but it should last a lifetime.
P.S. Never put anything higher than a #10 on. The higher #'s they use for surgical cuts, and cuts like the poodle show cut and the such.
