I agree that Yorkies should not be outside unattended. We live in the middle of the burbs and regularly see hawks flying around. If you think it might be a problem using a harness and leash to take your pup outside to potty, get an X-pen and put him in there for potty purposes. I still would not leave him unattended as many of them jump and can jump out of an X-pen.
