I certainly hope your right there our vets thought for 17 months that Daisy's was contact rash,,or hot spot,, as hers is not typical, ,was a tiny tiny place on her back when we brought her home at 10 weeks,, it went away,, came back ,went away, ,came back, ,over and over for months and months,, then back in October,, it got big as a quarter,, then grew larger and larger,, vets still thought Contact Rash,, still right up until I ASKED him to test it somehow,, he said he could do a skin scrape,, see if he could see anything,, parasite or bacteria,, but he still really thought contact rash,, he came back within minutes,, SO apologetic,, as he said "Never in a thousand years would I have thought this,, but Pam,, Daisy has Demodectic mange!" heres looked nothing like the typical you see,, not in the general places on her body,, she only had the one spot,, but it got so much larger so quickly,, (6 weeks),,just wish we'd discovered what it was before it got so big,, still she didnt loose hair like most do,, but the Demodex Mite is very recognizable,, looks like a little alligator,, BTW,a skin scrape only cost $17 at my vet and he is higher than most all vets in this area on everything,, sooooooo,, best of luck,, keep us posted!! |
