But, this isn't about my son. This is about the idea that there are some extremely qualified people that go into the medical field. These same individuals often go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. And for that I am eternally grateful!
If the Doctors in your area aren't meeting your satisfaction, perhaps you might choose to travel to an area that will meet your needs when required. |
Thank you for sharing your experience with wonderful doctors
I am appalled at the way that all doctors are being categorized into money hungry people...That really upsets me.
Many doctors don't even make much money. I know a lot of family medicine doctors who work 60+ hours a week and still only make $45,000. They could have become a million other things if they wanted to...Spent a LOT less in schooling, and been done many, many years before. Instead they chose to get $200,000 in debt just to go to school to do what they want, make a difference, and help people.
First of all, getting into med school is extremely difficult...Once you're in, it's hard to keep up...It's not a leisurely road to take, and not everyone is in it for the money because honestly, most are not making that much money.
Also, malpractice insurance rates are through the roof!! Those who have their own practice sometimes pay out more than they take in!
Another thing is that doctors are restricted on what they can and can't recommend because of insurance companies...It's not the doctors fault. Just like in any field, there are some people who aren't going to meet your expectations...That does not mean that they should all be placed in the same categories.
Sorry, I just realized this was totally off-topic!!
