We lost our Newman this past summer to cancer. He was ten years old. We had other Yorkies but it still wasn't the same without our Newman. I think you'll know when the time is right. Sometimes the time picks you and not the othe way around. Lilly came to us a month after losing Newman. We had could not bring ourselves to get another and so decided that we would stay with just what we had, but then along came Lilly. Lilly was 13 weeks old and in rescue. They had over 100 applications on her (Which I did not know at the time) and I simply inquired about her and three days later I was driving to meet her and bring her home. I believe with all my heart that Newman knew how much I loved and missed him and he sent me Lilly. Newman was our only male Yorkie and he was our first. We were very partial to females and although I love all my babies I have a special place for the tiny ones. Newman sent me just that. He sent me a female - a tiny female and he knew that my heart belonged to rescue so he brought her to me through just that "Rescue." Lilly is now 9 months old and full grown at just under 3 lbs. I still grieve for my baby but every time I hold Lilly I feel like he is with me. I think when it's the right time - that time will find you. Your Yorkie will find you and you'll know that that is the right one. Elaine |
