I DEFINATELY wanna get her spayed regardless of if she had the mites or not, I'm not into breeding, never have been, never will be. I'm so nervous and scared though about her going under, she's so small, a mere 2 pounds 8 ounces and she's 13 weeks old now. I haven't asked my vet yet if there's an age or weight limit for her to be spayed but I plan to at her check up. With all she's had to go through already though, she hasn't even been able to get all her shots! She was able to have one set and then this happend. I know stress can trigger it to come out if they have it, so I'm kinda wondering if her having her first set of vaccines may have triggered it? The stand in vet that was there when I took her in said the regular doc may very well hold off on any other shots until this is cleared up. I don't think he'll even spay her till this is cleared up either, which I wouldn't allow anyhow. I just want her immune system back up to par and her to be HEALTHY before anything. It makes me so mad when I think of the horrid conditions she came from. I know it takes a lot to breed and care for pups and get them to good, forever loving homes, if someone isn't willing to put into it all that it requires, they shouldn't breed! Because of the ladies ignorance, lack of caring and so forth, Maggy has had to contend with so much already. I'm glad your furbaby is doing well, I bet your very relieved.

well, as for Maggy Mae's size,, i had my Cricket spayed after she was a yr old,, she still was less than 3 pounds,, but knowing she was too tiny,, to risk a breeding,,also each heat cycle they come in greatly increases their chances of mammary cancers,, i had her spayed,,i personally DO recommended Laser surgery,, which i did on Cricket but did normal surgery with Daisy and i so regretted it for a few days,, as she had pain Cricket never had,, but also, she was coming into heat,, but yes,, i've read long and hard and researched after getting the Demodex confirmed,, and it doesnt come from poor conditions,, it is present in every dog just comes out in some with immunity problems,, which Daisy had when we got her,, she had NO bacteria, ,no good OR bad,, none,, took us a while,, but she is all gold healthy as a horse and half the size of some, lol, (shes our TeaPot at 9.5 lbs),,,so too big to breed anyway,, but she is a real lover,, and we love her!! she is currently doing very well,, the mange is totally gone ,, she never really lost hair,, i cut it really really short at the site to let air to it and put the ointment on,, but her hair is back to normal now,, but for the coloration of the site is different than the rest of her,, so where she used to have a blond spot,, she now has a black spot,, ,, if there are any concerns or questions i possibly could help you with, ,i'll be happy to,, feel free to PM me if you wish,, best of luck to ya!
