But most of the vets I know of spay/neuter starting at 10, 12, or 16 weeks (differs from vet to vet) as long as the puppy/kitten is at least 2lbs.

There are no adverse effects to spaying and neutering this early...all studies have proven that it is safe and there are no long-term disadvantages. It would give the breeder piece-of-mind that the puppy has been altered before going to its new home.

My youngest Persian cat was spayed before I was able to bring her home from the breeder. I thought it was great...the spay was included in her purchase price and I didn't have to worry about having it done after bringing her home.

We had Tiffanie was our largest Yorkie being 13.2 lbs. at the time she was spayed 9/18/07 and it cost us $198.85!!!!
Previox 57 mg.(her pain reliever for here at home I think): $8.75
Anesthesia (General): $38.00
Anesthetic Monitoring: $8.00
Pre-OP Panel SA: $48.00
Spay-Canine 0-30 lbs.:$58.60
Metcacam Per CC-Injectable: $7.50
Rabies: $13.00
Canine Vaxx Adult: $17.00 (She was due for her yearly shots and they assured me it would not interfere with anything being done with her!! And it didn't!)
We also had to Pre-OP Panel this was up to us to have done and I wanted it done for it insures their kidneys will work proper & ??? they check for before they operate on her, they didn't want to get into the surgery and then something happen when this test could of told them before hand and maybe saved her life...So this test will be done on any Yorkies I ever get spayed/neutered in my home!!!
Now lets see take off her shots and rabies shot and what is the total: $168.85 that is what it would cost (Oh I could leave out the pain meds for them at home and allow them to suffer on their own but I wouldn't put my babies through this!!) for ALL puppies leaving my home!! So that is a lot of money when out of 7 puppies that was adopted out at the price of $500.00 (NONE HIGHER) and some as low as $300.00 for everyone thought that they was going to be over 8 lbs. in weight and some of them stayed in our home until the ages of 5 to 6 months old due to their mommy being bigger and everyone thinking that they ALL was gonna be larger babies when full grown which didn't turn out to be true at all 3 has turned out bigger and the other 5 turned out 4 to 7 lbs...So I'm adopting them out so cheep and just because I say cheep doesn't mean they are bad Yorkies or unhealthy Yorkies I mean due to their mothers size (Another reason they are on a spay/neuter contract to put a end to her line throwing larger babies & why I had Tiffanie spayed in the 1st place!!) all was and still are 100% healthy not a trouble one out of 10 babies or their parents!!! How can I afford to get them all spayed/neutered before they leave our home??? And our Vet will NOT touch them to spay/neuter them until they are at least 7 Months old told me it was just to dangerous due to their small breed size!! Now we're not even talking their shots, vet checks, wormers, food and just basic supplies here at home for me to care for them and we NEVER allow a Puppy to leave our home until they are 12 weeks old even larger Yorkie babies either!!!!This is just my thoughts tho as a breeder of adopting puppies out at a lower price. So once again no there's no money to be made!!!
