The recruiters come to our school (and have their own table in our cafateria), and they talk to the students that they're allowed to talk to. It really bugs me....I mean, they come to a high school where 90% of the kids are still trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives, and they are wearing their fancy uniforms with the nice badges and telling the kids everything they want to hear. I have no disrespect for our troops and I support them, but I don't like the way recruiting is done AT ALL. Our old neighbor was in the Navy, and he's managed to convince my brother to go to college before joining anything (he wants to be an RN), and I'm hoping that once he gets involved with that lifestyle he'll just forget about the Marines. and I know that's selfish....but I can't help it.

I'm really scared for my brother. He's my only sibling and even though we fight occasionally, we are really good friends and I don't know what I'd do if something happened to him.

So...sorry for threadjacking.
My dad is an RN and there is a shortages of nurses - especially where I live. Many teaching hospitals in my area will sign on a college student and pay all of their tuition fees and guarantee them a job plus sign-on bonus - let your brother know that there are many other ways to really help with the financial aspect of becoming a nurse that are less risky.
