If I was a breeder I wouldn't sell to someone with young children. I know several people have young children and yorkies and it works, and I know adults can hurt the yorkies as well...but the fact is, a young child around a yorkie increases its risk of getting hurt. If I were placing a puppy, I'd put it in a home that I thought was the least risk for a puppy.
Lacy normally is not around children but when she has been, she's been find around them. Once, we had a big surprise party for my grandmother at my parents house, and my cousins brought their young children. Two were very well-behaved and left the dogs alone. The other two were constantly trying to chase them. Lacy was smart and knew how to get out of their way, but Rylie kept getting caught and they were trying to pick him up (and he did NOT like that at all). I finally had to just hold Lacy and Rylie most of the time until the kids left.
