If you socialize a yorkie properly then they shouldn't have a problem with children, people in general. I have a 2 year old granddaughter but she's NEVER ALLOWED to pick up any of my dogs but she loves them just the same and they love her. I will be holding her or the dogs and they give her kisses all the time and they all love it but again with the exception of Cammie ( I didn't raise). I would never let a toddler unsupervised around puppies. Again, I do believe children should have animals but the right animal for their age. And I'm about to probably open a can of worms but....if you have small children and when I say small and you have 2 or 3 my feelings are you should be caring for the children instead of a young puppy. LOL...dont' all rip me at once LOL...

Oh and one more thing...I didn't start showing and breeding until my child was grown and out on her own....I didn't even have a yorkie until she was in high school! We had bigger dogs when she was a child but my main concern was raising my child and not a puppy!
