I did give him his heartwork meds. which is the brand revolution. has anyone used this ?? could this cause his poop ?? i have thought about everything !! i will take any advice possible. I only feed him the amount on the bag which is like 1 cup and 1/4, & i do that thru out the day. He does not eat after 5pm. he does not drink after 7pm. OH & he also pee's in his crate & gets it alllllll over him. i dont know what to do ??? i put puppy pads down and he just tears them up. He is 5 months old & he wont even go outside to use the bathroom. i have to pick him up and put him outside. I am a full time student i go to school tuesday thru thursday 8am-7pm & friday and saturday 9-4pm. But my boyfriends mother lets him out through out the day. *** we live with her***

Also what do ya'll think about the petsmart puppy potty training classes ?? |
it sounds like you have multiple problems combining to make one big problem. I agree that you probably need to change the food and yes changing the food will give him loose stool for a while, so it will seem to exacerbate the problem for a bit but then it will settle down. also you said he wont go outside, you have to take him. YES. that is what you have to do. TAKE HIM OUTSIDE. like, literally force him. you seem to be at school alot and I dont know how much interaction the mother gives but i think maybe he is lonely and is having seperation anxiety... and I know that even with humans anxiety causes loose stool. also, i read you are not supposed to keep a puppy in a crate for longer than 2 hours at a time without some significant break at least.. 30 minutes to an hour of interation and then they can go back in there... it seems hes just in the crate too much and he needs someone to be with him and take him outside when he looks like hes going to poop (you can tell cus they start circling around and smelling the ground).
