Piper was a "crate pooper" too. I ended up getting an XPen reallycheap at a garage sale. Every family that has kids seems to eventually be selling one! I lined the floor with plastic camping tarp and I put in a piddle pad and toys and her food and a little bed. It does take a bit of space. But this way she wasn't locked away. The tarp protected the floor nicely too. We went the route of using piddle pads rather than outside training because we live in an apartment and have no yard. Did this until just last month. Now Piper (almost 9 months) has run of half the apartment. I still have a bit of tarp out under the piddle pad because she doesn't know where the back half of her body is....if the front paws are on the pad, she thinks she's "good to go!".
Anyway, you might like using the xpen because it keeps them out where they can see you and, being pack animals, they like to be with the pack. Yorkies are SO social!
Oh..and 2nd on the Natures Variety RAW. The poop doesn't smell at all really. I think her stinkiest was with Innova Evo. |
