I guess this is why I shouldnt come in here, lol. | I will not adopt one of our Yorkies to a home with very small children due to experience in my own home, when we brought our 1st Yorkie home Teddy he was just 1 & 1/2 lbs at 6 weeks old, and my daughter who was 9 at the time climb on top of our countertop to get something down out of the cabinet when she jumped back down off the countertop she landed right on top of Teddy!! He squalled and yelped & yes I thought he was dead but God love him he was fine not a thing wrong with him!! That right there taught me a very good lesson!! For if it can happen with a 9 year old then what can a toddler unsupervised do to one??? Oh yes I have a 2 year old granddaughter who cherishes our Yorkies and lives to see them and yes hold them but I NEVER EVER leave her ALONE with them!! She NEVER holds them without one of us right there with her!! Just a valuable lesson for me as a Yorkie owner and Breeder!! |
