I have heard the female sperm live up to 5 days and the male sperm 3 days. I seem to have more female pups as a general rule so my theory is breed early so the female sperm have a better chance of getting there first when the eggs drop....hehe...I wish it was that simple. Seriously, even if you breed one time you can have the eggs fertilized up to 5 days later so you could still get a runt or less mature pup.
