I use the hospital or "reclaimed" pads as well. I treat them just like you do with cloth diapers. I got diaper pail with lid (any waste basket with a lid will do as well) and keep baking soda in the lid insert. I have a mixture in a spray bottle of water and tea tree oil and spray the pee spots on the pad with this and fold them soiled side in and place them in the diaper pail. I have 12 of the washable pads and change them about twice a day.

This method really keeps the smell contained. I also spray my pail out with Odoban on washing day. Just make sure you kinda open up the pads when you are putting them in the washer to make sure they get clean!

It's really alot better for the environment and much cheaper than the disposables. I thought it was the best investment I've made as far as puppy pads go!

I wash them about once a week, so I don't think that's too bad as far as laundry goes.
