Introduction Hi all!
I'm new to YT (and Yorkie ownership) and just wanted to introduce myself.
I am a college student in Southern Oregon (formerly Seattle), and my new family addition is an 11 week old male Yorkie named Winston.
Before he joined us I was a "strictly cat" person, but he has brought so much joy and laughter into my life (and I've only had him a week)!
My three cats aren't very happy about him yet...they are used to having mom all to themselves... but they are getting used to it.
The week has not been uneventful, however. The day after I got him, he went into hypoglycemic shock and had to be rushed to the vet. We bonded well over the next 24 hours because I had to stay up with him and force feed him every hour. I was so glad to see posts from other owners with similar experiences (not that they were good experiences) because I thought I had done something to hurt Winston! I had no idea that Yorkies were prone to hypoglycemia and I wish the breeder would have warned me!
The vet explained that he must have had a tough time adjusting to the new house and cats, and he has been perfect ever since.
Anyway, looking forward to sharing more ideas, experiences, and advice with you all!
