Did you adopt him from a rescue? He should have had a dental done before he was adopted. If it was a private adoption, I understand. As mentioned, Yorkies are notorious for tartar build-up. Before I became "educated" I wasn't careful about getting a dental each year on my Yorkies. My tiniest one paid the price. She probably had approx. 1/2 of her teeth pulled. Been more careful since then. Now I brush with C.E.T. toothpaste and rinse with C.E.T. dental rinse (not the breath freshener) every single night. Sometimes I am tempted to skip the routine, but then I think about skipping my dental hygiene and I do it for them. I'm hoping that my vigilance will pay off so I don't have to pay for a dental for four furbabies.
