and if you can set your own standard then you are someone who knows how to get out there and get know for people to buy your dogs and see what you breed? Rules/Guides are not followed all the time, maybe your knew guidelines could create a new rule/standard over time with it getting know. |
Because, the standard defines the breed! If you aren't breeding to the standard, you aren't truly breeding a Yorkshire Terrier....if you continue breeding out-of-standard dogs, you eventually get a yorkie that doesn't even resemble a Yorkshire Terrier. Therefor, you aren't breeding a Yorkie anymore.
If someone is truly setting out to create a new breed and doing it the right way, more power to them. But you can't take a yorkie and change a couple things about it and still call it a yorkie.
