We see posts on here all the time, people who didn't get the dog they thought they would, or it doesn't look like a Yorkie, it's got genetic, health issues...THAT is what happens when people "breed to their own standard' and don't follow what others have worked hard to create.

The set standard regulates a Yorkie to look a certain way, weight a certain amount and have certain characteristics. In short, the things that make it a YORKIE and set it apart from other breeds. When you are not breeding to achieve and end result that mirrors that, you aren't breeding Yorkies, you're just breeding to get dogs.

And I think that the breakdown that Tami gave was just to demonstrate the unforseen costs involved, not meant to be taken so literally.
I understand what you mean on the first part. But still What if they create their own little standard that is slight dif. from the ones that are followed by AKC and YTCA? Shouldn't others not be mad about that since are following a standard that they had for a while or created? They are doing a hobby like exhibitors and is trying to put healthy, beautiful, great temp. puppies in new homes....
