Just wanted to give you all a little update on Tator Tot
I took her back to the vet today for a check up (the vet wanted to see her again to make sure that the infection that she had is gone). Well, he said that it is definitely looking better, but since it was a skin infection (around her nose/mouth) he wanted to put her BACK on meds
She was on her last meds for 2 weeks, and she will be on these for another 2 weeks. He said that with any type of skin infections he likes to keep them on meds for at least a month. So...that is what we are doing now...taking MORE meds
So again, more waiting on the LP surgery. He didn't seem to be bothered by this and definitely thinks I should wait until everything with her is totally, 100% cleared up. So we will see what happens after she is done with this round of meds
SIGH....I really did not want anymore of this. Poor little Tatum just HATES HATES HATES taking her meds
I have to fight her for about half an hour each time (she takes 2 diff meds, each twice a day) - it is SUCH a big production around here when it is time to give meds, lol
One of the meds that she is on (it is the pill, for itching) he said that we can actually keep her on for life for her allergies if I want to
He said that after these next 2 weeks, if I want to keep her on it, I can either give it to her once or twice a day, whatever I choose. He said it won't cause her any harm...it's just for itching.
Yikes, don't know about her being on pills for the rest of her life
Anyway, I just wanted to give you all an update since it has been a while and so many people have been asking about how she's been doing (thank you!)
I will continue to update as I find out more info (although it will probably be a few weeks). Big hugs to you all and thanks again sooo much for all of your care, concern and prayers - it means the world to me!
